If you haven’t read the “About Me” page, please check it out. It explains what, why, and where we are going on a world cruise. We usually travel light and don’t check bags, but this time is different. The struggle is real to pack efficiency but still have some variety for all the different climates and cultures. Azamara will do one laundry bag a week per person. Therefore, I only need one week of clothes for each climate. This link had some excellent tips on actual packing.

Another great site is Travel fashion Girl, which has recommended packing lists for several countries. The writer has traveled the world packing carry on only! She has great ideas, as well as a very active Facebook community page.

We are each taking one medium 26 inch suitcase, one rolling carry on size, one backpack and one small duffel. I started off with a large 29 inch suitcase that was too heavy once it was filled!
A few items that took extra room were:
- Snorkel mask, fins, water shoes, beach bag, cell phone waterproof lanyard, small flotation device to help me snorkel
- Medical kit, medications, CPAP
- Hair clippers, hand broom, ( I cut David’s hair)
- Binoculars
- Packable day bag and packable duffel bag for extras
- Raincoat, umbrella
- Room accessories: bathroom nightlight, battery alarm clock, magnet hooks, pop up laundry bags, clothes pins,
- Desk items, paper clips, envelopes, scissors, tape
- Hats
- Toiletries for 6 months! We don’t like to spend down time shopping.
- Lots of shoes for my worn out feet
Although packing is stressful for me, I am reminded from the book of Matthew 6:25, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”
I may not always feel extremely confident in my clothes, but I have never been without. Comfort and purpose is most important to me.
